Women's BJJ Spats

Leggings that roll at the waist or go sheer when you shrimp are a distraction you do not need mid-roll. XMartial women's spats are cut for women's proportions, with a high waistband that stays put through inversions and scrambles and a squat-proof knit that stays fully opaque under stretch.

Underneath that, it is mat-grade construction: antifungal treatment that survives daily training, four-way stretch that moves with your guard, and flatlock seams that will not chafe or dig in on the ground. Designs run from floral and pastel through leopard and blackout, so you are not choosing between gear you like and gear that lasts. Shopping for men's or kids' sizes too? Women's BJJ Spats FAQs

Are XMartial women's spats squat-proof?

Yes. The knit stays fully opaque under stretch, so they will not go sheer when you shrimp, invert, or get stacked. This is the single most common complaint about training in gym leggings and it is what the fabric weight is chosen for.

How should women's BJJ spats fit?

Snug through the hip and thigh with a high waistband that holds through inversions and scrambles. Women's cuts run narrower at the waist relative to the hip than unisex spats, so if unisex spats have gaped at your waist, size to your hip measurement here. Every product page has a size chart.

Do I need women's spats, or will unisex work?

Unisex spats will train, but they are cut straight through the hip and tend to gap at the waist and bunch behind the knee on most women. Women's cuts sit correctly through the waist-to-hip ratio, which is what stops the roll-down mid-round.

What do women wear with BJJ spats?

Most women train in spats with a women's BJJ rash guard on top. Wear the spats on their own, or layer spats shorts over them if your gym prefers shorts.

Do you wear underwear under women's BJJ spats?

Yes, most women wear seamless or compression underwear underneath. Skip anything with thick seams or lace, which will dig in under a body lock or a knee slice. Some women train in spats with a built-in liner and nothing else.

Can women wear spats alone in No-Gi competition?

Rules vary by organization, so check your specific ruleset before you compete. Most gyms accept spats on their own for regular No-Gi training, and spats with shorts over them is the safest default for competition day.
