About XMartial Wrestling Knee Pads

Good wrestling knee pads need three things: enough padding to absorb hard mat contact, a secure fit that doesn't slip during scrambles, and breathable fabric that doesn't turn into a sweatbox during a 3-round match.

Our collection covers youth, high school, college, and Masters-level wrestlers. Pair with our wrestling shoes, singlets, or complete a wrestling kit at a discount.

Wrestling Knee Pads FAQ

Are knee pads allowed in NFHS, NCAA, and USA Wrestling competition?

Yes. Knee pads are permitted at all levels of wrestling competition, provided they meet the padding thickness and material requirements. Ours meet NFHS, NCAA, and USA Wrestling / UWW standards.

Do I need one knee pad or two?

Most wrestlers wear one (on their dominant shooting knee), but some prefer two for symmetry and protection on both sides. Comes down to personal preference and injury history.

How should wrestling knee pads fit?

Snug but not restrictive. The pad should sit centered on your kneecap and stay put during scrambles. If it slides down during a match, it's too loose — size down.

Can I wear these for BJJ or MMA training?

Yes. Same construction principles apply for any grappling art. Just note that BJJ competitions may have different rules about knee pad thickness.

How do I care for wrestling knee pads?

Hand wash cold with mild soap after training. Air dry only — do not put in the dryer. Heat degrades the padding and elastic.
